About

Dr Dattatraya Muzumdar is an internationally trained medical professional with 23 years of experience in neurosurgery. He has popularized the regular use of ‘Intraoperative Electrocorticography’ during Epilepsy surgery. He was the surgical counterpart of the first comprehensive epilepsy surgery care program in Western India with over 600 epilepsy surgery cases performed between 2001 and 2019. This service primarily caters to the underprivileged class.

Dr Muzumdar has also been the founder member of the Joint Neurooncology meetings / Tumor board, established between KEM Hospital and Tata Memorial Hospital in 1999. It was a premier venture in India of collaboration between various specialists involved in the comprehensive care of brain and spine tumor patients on a single platform.

He’s also been the founder member of the Indian Society of Neuro-oncology (ISNO) and is an esteemed member of other prestigious societies such as the Neurological Society of India (NSI)National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Indian Society for Pediatric neurosurgery (Indspn), Bombay Neurosciences Association (BNA), Indian Medical Association (IMA), International Society for Pediatric neurosurgery ( ISPN), Association of Medical Consultants (AMC), British Council Library, and more.

Dr Dattatraya has also been an editorial board member of various reputed national and international journals.

His research work has been impeccable and has over 170 papers published in various national and international journals. He has written about 20 book chapters in various neurosurgery textbooks.
