Theranostics in nuclear medicine is the combination of diagnos tics and therapeutics where one radioactive drug is used to identify (diagnose) and a second radioactive drug is used to treat cancerous tumors using the same biomolecule within the body as a target. In other words, theranostics combines radionuclide imaging and radiation therapy which targets specific biological pathways.This is to achieve a precise and personalized treatment strategy.
