About

Dr. Avinash Kulkarni is a Famous Neurologist in Bangalore. Currently associated with BGS Gleneagles Hospitals , Kengeri.


After the basic medical degree, he received his General Medicine training  and then went on to complete Neurology training at the prestigious Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute For Medical Sciences & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram (SCTIMST). After that he was a post doctoral fellow in Neuroimmunology at the prestigious NIMHANS.

 

Before joining BGS Gleneagles, he was working as Consultant Neurologist at Manipal Hospital , Yeshwanthpur, Bangalore. He has received the best paper award for his original research work on sleep-related problems in stroke survivors at the National Stroke Conference 2023. He was awarded with the travel grant for presenting this original work in storke at the World Stroke Congress 2024 ( Abu Dhabi, UAE ). In addition, he has presented many papers at national conferences.

 

His area of expertise includes Multiple Sclerosis and related Demyelinating Disorders, Autoimmune Encephalitis, Stroke, Headache Disorders, Sleep Related Disorders , Epilepsy, Neuropathies , Muscle Diseases,Dementia (Memory Related Diseases), Parkinson’s Disease & related movement disorders.

 

Apart from general neurology, he has a special interest in Neuroimmunology, Electrophysiology, Sleep medicine and Neurorehabilitation. He is recipient of the International Sleep Disorders Specialist award from the World Sleep Society 2024. In addition he has done MRCP SCE Neurology from UK.

 

Besides his professional career, Dr. Avinash is passionate about Yoga & is a regular practitioner. He has a special interest in Organic farming & Travel. He is trained in Carnatic music.
