BGS Gleneagles Kengeri informs to have completed 300 liver transplants. With this, the hospital claims to have become the first hospital in Karnataka to achieve this feat. The hospital credits its medical professionals and support teams for this accomplishment.

The transplant surgeons, physicians, intensivists, anesthesiologists, nurses, coordinators, and other staff have worked tirelessly for the past decade to nurture the transplant ecosystem at the hospital, states a company press release.

The most prevalent congenital abnormalities of the craniofacial structure are cleft lip and palate, both hard and soft. In India, there are around 24.5 million births each year, and there are between 27,000 and 33,000 cases of cleft palates reported annually. Inequalities occur in both access to and quality of cleft care, with notable inequalities between urban and rural locations. Due to this imbalance, as well as a lack of knowledge, an accumulation of untreated clefts of the lip and palate has resulted in a huge healthcare problem in India.

A 13-year-old child who had bleeding and an extremely low platelet count of 4000 was brought to BGS Gleneagles Hospital around a year ago. Clinical evaluation and a complete assessment of the patient indicated that the patient had Fanconi anemia (inherited form of aplastic anemia)which had transformed to a devastating blood malignancy known as Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

A 42-year-old woman from Delhi with a rare genetic disorder called polycystic liver and kidney disease has undergone a combined liver-kidney transplant at BGS Gleneagles Global Hospitals. Her liver and kidneys were both affected by the genetic disorder, requiring the transplant as a lifesaving procedure.
