Breast Cancer is becoming a rising concern among women. One out of 8 women is likely to have invasive Breast Cancer in the course of their life. However, early detection of Breast Cancer increases survival rates by 95%.
BGS Gleneagles Hospital is initiating a 5 Km run to create awareness of Breast Cancer in society.
Being aware of the threat to your health is an important step in protecting yourself from lifestyle disorders and Cancers. The run aims to encourage women(women above 40 years) to be aware of and to focus on Breast self-examination and annual Screening Mammograms.
Through this event, we hope not only those diagnosed receive treatment earlier but more importantly be able to have lives free from the disorder altogether.

Dr S Selva SeethaRaman, is a Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand & Microvascular surgeon with an experience of more than 15 years. He has completed his M.Ch. degree in Plastic Surgery at the Prestigious Stanley Medical College, Chennai. He also completed his intercollegiate degree of Royal college and a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS), Edinburgh, UK. Dr Selva is a passionate and enthusiastic Surgeon and uses his skills as an artist and a surgeon to help patients to reconstruct their features as natural as possible.
Dr. M D S Sasidharan is a fellowship-trained Spine Surgeon with an overall 10 years of experience in this specialty. He is trained under the stalwarts of Spine surgery In India and aboard with multiple fellowships to his credit. He has completed the prestigious ASSI (Association of Spine Surgeons of India) fellowship for 2 years, as one among the nine members who got selected through all India entrance exams trained under the mentorship of Dr. Sajan K. Hegde in Apollo Hospitals, AO SPINE fellowship under Prof.
Dr Rajeev Nikte is a highly trained medical professional with a cumulative experience of 25 years. Currently, he’s heading the Department of Transfusion Medicine in Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai. He’s been associated with some of the most renowned hospitals in India.
Dr V.C Karthik has an overall experience of 24 years and is currently working at Gleneagles Global Health City. He completed his M.B.B.S from Madras Medical College. He further completed his M.Ch in Urology from Stanley Medical College. His expertise lies in Endo-Urology and Uro-Gynaecology.
Dr K. Arul has an overall experience of 27 years and is currently working as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Gleneagles Health City. A proficient doctor, he seamlessly manages trauma and non-trauma neurosurgical patients in a busy neurosurgical unit. He has performed several neurosurgical operations on neuro trauma patients and non-trauma patients. He has also assisted in a variety of operations such as CP angle tumours, skull base tumours, and neuro-endoscopic operations, AVM and epilepsy surgery.
