Dr. Shirish Hastak is a distinguished neurologist with over four decades of experience, primarily in stroke management. He serves as the Regional Director of Neurology, Stroke, and Neurocritical Care at Gleneagles Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. Renowned nationally and internationally for his expertise in stroke treatment, he has pioneered multiple initiatives in India, including the first stroke unit in Western India (2001), the first stroke support health group (2003), the first stroke helpline (2005), and the first stroke website (2005).

 

He is recognized for his expertise in hyperacute stroke management, including IV thrombolysis and mechanical clot retrieval using advanced stroke care systems. Dr. Hastak has contributed extensively to medical education, research, and community health initiatives such as "Walk with the Doc" since 2017.
