About

Dr. Perumal Karnan has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience in various aspects of critical care in paediatrics, including liver transplant, neurosurgery, haem-oncology, meningococcal sepsis, paediatric trauma, post-op critical care, ECMO, cardiac ICU, and retrieval services. He is proficient in paediatric echocardiography, flexible bronchoscopy, and critical care-oriented sonography. With over 24 years of experience, he has dealt with all kinds of paediatric emergencies and intensive care support, including ECMO and multiorgan transplants. His academic interest led him to teach and organize curriculum for medical students in the UK. He currently heads the Paediatric intensive care programme at Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai, catering to a wide variety of cases, including neurosurgery, bone marrow transplant, liver transplant, burns, and post-cardiac transplant.
